What we collect

When you submit a request for help, we collect the name, phone number, ZIP code, problem type, any details you type into the message field, and your consent to be contacted. That is the whole list — we do not ask for a street address, and we do not want one.

We also collect limited technical information automatically: the page you submitted from, the referring page, and advertising or campaign parameters in the URL (for example utm_source or gclid). These are used to understand which traffic sources produce legitimate inquiries.

How it is used

• To connect you with available local service providers who handle the type of problem you described in your area.
• To follow up on your request if a provider cannot reach you.
• To measure site performance in aggregate — which pages help visitors, and which calls to action get used.
• To prevent abuse of the request form, including rate limiting and spam filtering.

Who it is shared with

Request details are shared with service providers who can respond to your request. We may receive compensation when a visitor connects with a provider — see the disclosure page for that in plain language.

We do not sell your information to unrelated third parties, and we do not add your number to marketing lists for products you did not ask about.

Analytics and cookies

If an analytics measurement ID is configured, the site loads Google Analytics 4 and sends event data about page views and call-to-action clicks. IP anonymization is enabled. Form field values — your name, phone number, and message — are never sent to analytics. Only the problem type and ZIP code accompany a successful submission event, so lead quality can be evaluated without exposing personal details.

Attribution data (UTM parameters, landing page, referrer) is stored in your browser's session storage for the duration of your visit, so a later conversion can be traced to the original source. It expires when the session ends.

Retention and your choices

Request details are retained for as long as needed to route and follow up on the inquiry, and then for a limited period for record-keeping. You can ask us to delete your request information through the contact page, and we will do so unless we are required to retain it.

You can also decline to submit a request at all — the guides on this site are free to read and require nothing from you.

Children

This site is intended for property owners and adults handling a property emergency. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of the page will change with it. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
